Shrinking violet : insights on introversion

Abstract

To explore the concept of introversion, the researchers delved into this study through creative method, specifically an animated short film, Shrinking Violet, to provide insights. Roughly lasting for approximately 5 minutes with fused visuals of 3D backgrounds and environment with digital 2D animation along with dialogue and soundtracks, the film highlighted a young introverted protagonist. The researchers intended to normalize introversion, differentiating it from antisocial behavior, and showing introverts are capable of social interaction. The promoted insights are an optimistic prompt for a healthy, open discussion on introversion. In case of possible future creative works, similar to this research, the researchers recommend exploring a live action film, music video, and a longer animated film to promote their concept.
