Abstract
This study aimed to determine the significant influence of teacher performance that best influences the attitude of students towards physical education. It was established in various literatures that teacher performance has a big effect on student attitude towards physical education. This problem was sensibly discussed in this study. Employing quantitative non-experimental research utilizing correlational technique, simple random sampling and regression analysis, data were obtained from 199 students of Padada and Hagonoy 2 Districts as the respondents of the study. From the results of the study it was found out that there was only minimal significant relationship among the indicators of teacher performance and student attitude due to different factors and indicators that were not part of the study that directly affects the relationship of the two variables; however, this cannot affect the over-all results of the study; thus there was no significant relationship between the two variables. Importantly, among the indicators of teacher performance only professionalism is the only domain that best influences student attitude towards physical education. Keywords: education, performance, attitude, physical education, correlational design, Philippines
