Student orientation on green architecture : basis for a curriculum enhancement
Abstract
This study ascertained the level of student orientation on green architecture as basis
for curriculum enhancement, involving 252 BS Architecture students of the University
of Mindanao. Student orientation on green architecture was described in terms of
energy efficiency, indoor air quality, green materials, green building systems, and
good design, and its output was a curriculum enhancement for the Architecture
program. The descriptive-survey method was used, which further utilized t-test and
analysis of variance (ANOVA) in testing the null hypothesis. Results showed that
there were no significant differences in the level of orientation of students on green
architecture when they were grouped by gender. However, a significant difference in
the level of orientation of students on green architecture was found to be significant
when they were grouped by year level. A proposed curriculum enhancement was
also discussed.
