Ethical work climate and organizational commitment of librarians
Abstract
The aim of this study was to ascertain which domain of ethical work climate best
influences organizational commitment of librarians. The researcher utilized the
descriptive-quantitative research design approach employing correlational technique.
Through stratified random sampling, 105 professional librarians were surveyed using
the adapted questionnaires. To analyze the data, Mean, Pearson r and regression
were used. The findings showed that librarians had a high overall degree of ethical
work climate and organizational commitment. Further, ethical work climate was found
to be significantly correlated to organizational commitment of librarians. Hence, the
null hypothesis is rejected. When reverted, it was shown that among the indicators of
the ethical work climate of librarians only the collective moral judgment was the
domain which best influences the organizational commitment.
