Many people find it hard to express themselves such as conveying their messages, their opinions, point of view, or anything using the English language due to stage fright and anxiety. The aim of this study was to describe the students’ self perceptions and their self-perceived factors on speaking abilities using the English language. Using the adapted modified quantitative survey questionnaire, the analysis of survey data reveal that 50 Grade 12 students reported that spoken English language is necessary for their future job. Confidence and shyness are the students’ self perceptions. The study also reveal that nervousness, stage fright, mental-block state, and worrying about making mistakes are the students’ dominant self-perceived factors.
