This study was entitled “A PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY ON STUDENTS’
EXPERIENCES IN MODULAR STUDY IN JOSE N. CABUNILAS
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL”, used a qualitative research design which is the
most convenient for the researchers to analyze the problem of a certain
phenomenon, and the researchers’ uses a phenomenological method to
conduct this study. The respondent of this study were the 10 pupils of Jose N.
Cabunilas Elementary School who were officially enrolled in modular distance
learning. Results show that the experiences of pupils in modular distance
learning are both positive and negative, they experience negative while in
modular learning such as financial related concerns, environmental
distractions, and visual presentation concern. Student found it stressful and
depressive because it is hard for them to adjust in this new learning set-up.
However, they also experience parent assistance, who help them answer the
module, modular effectiveness which help them to learn despite this economic
a humanitarian crisis and modular distance learning foster them to become
self-independent in which it could help them to become responsible in doing
their module, which are he positive experiences of pupils in modular distance
learning.
Based on the result, the researchers recommended that parents should give
more emphasis on helping their pupils in modular distance learning. They
must also motivate their pupils to do their tasks and assignments in the
module. In terms of negative experiences like environmental distractions
parents must eliminate interruptions at home during educational time, building
up a set timetable and a spot at home where pupils can learn with no
interruptions and can work on their emphasis on the main jobs. Parents are
also recommended to guide and encourage their children to do the tasks on
the module on their own so that pupils could build self-independence.
