The main objective of the study was to determine the hotel selection
factors of millennial. There were 150 respondents taken of the study.
Exploratory factors analysis was used to determine factors influencing
millennial to patronize hotel. The identified factors are as follows: Customer
Service Oriented Staff; Marketing Strategies; Loyalty Program; Spacious and
Complimentary Internet Access; Secured with Giveaways; Value-added
Service; Budget-wise Rates; In-Place Safety and Security
Mechanism/Protocol; Accessibility to Retail Establishment; and Provision of
Print Advertising. Moreover, there is no significant difference on the hotel
selection factors of millennials when analyzed by sex, occupation, and
educational attainment. The implication of the study concerns the preparations
that the hotel industry will do in coordination with the Department of Tourism,
which cater the influx of the millennial tourist, which will be expected to
increase every year in contrast to the decline of the babyboomers and
generation X who are getting older and would eventually settle in their
retirement homes. The demanding characteristics of the millennial tourist may
be anticipated by the hotel management and based on the feedbacks and
precious experience with them; it can be readied to meet their expectation
resulting to their satisfied experience. As mentioned earlier, the Department of
Tourism may promote tourism in the country in the context of the millennial
tourists.
