This study titled extrinsic motivation and self-determination of student-athletes in University of Mindanao Tagum College. Extrinsic motivation and self-determination were conducted to know if this will help the student-athletes increase their self-determination in terms of autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Furthermore, this study used a quantitative non-experimental research design utilizing a correlation technique and a modified questionnaire. Hence, this design adopted correlation techniques to determine the significant relationship between extrinsic motivation and self-determination of student-athletes. Moreover, researchers conducted the study at the University of Mindanao Tagum College, Davao del Norte, Philippines, with one hundred twenty participants. The results were analyzed and interpreted in the light of this study using the appropriate statistical treatment as follows: mean and Pearson r. It will help CHED, sports administrators, and sports coaches to assist student-athletes self-determination. The research revealed a significant relationship between extrinsic motivation and self-determination of student-athletes at the University of Mindanao Tagum College.
