Assessing public safety in Tagum City: quantitative perceptions of female students: basis for enhancement proposal

The study dealt on assessing the public safety among female criminology
students of University of Mindanao Tagum College, Mabini Street, Tagum City,
Davao del Norte. The primary goal of the study is to determine the level of public
safety based on a sense of personal security, the experience of victimization, and
satisfaction with the Police. It utilized a quantitative non-experimental single
variable study with 245 female criminology students from UM Tagum College as
the respondent of the study. Determining the mean is the statistical tool used for
data treatment. Results showed that a high level of public safety in Tagum city in
terms of sense of personal safety, satisfaction; with the police, the experience of
victimization. The domain of public safety in Tagum city has a high rating given by
the respondents from UM Tagum College, meaning it is safe enough to live and
study within the area.
