This quantitative, non-experimental research, titled "Assessment on disaster impacts in the community: a basis for intervention scheme," was conducted in the community locales of Tagum City, Davao del Norte, with the primary goal of determining the level of disaster impacts across four critical dimensions: Physical, Economic, Social, and Psychological. The study was anchored on the concept that effective disaster management requires a comprehensive understanding of these varied effects—from quantifiable casualties and property damage to complex psychosocial and economic disruptions. The ultimate objective was to use the findings on these impacts as the basis for formulating a community intervention scheme. The resulting Suggested Intervention Scheme is designed to encourage activities that will aid community efforts to prepare for and mitigate the effects of disasters. This scheme focuses on systematically enhancing the community's physical, economic, social, and psychological resilience to ensure a more effective response, recovery, and overall preparedness for future hazards.
