Abstract
Building collapse is a major calamity related with development, construction, and national progress that is experienced by all nations around the world, but its frequent and destructive impacts on sustainable development in in Poblacion Dos, Bansalan Davao del Sur have become a source of concern. The incidences of multipurpose buildings failure in Poblacion Dos, Bansalan Davao del Sur, have led to irreparable loss of properties, livelihood, and the normal daily living of people. Through an examination of the literature of numerous books, researchers, and personal research from trustworthy sources, this paper connected strands of ideas. It was discovered that four of the multipurpose building collapsed in Poblacion Dos, Bansalan Davao del Sur, as a result of building inefficiency, quality/poor designs, and substandard construction materials. The study stressed practical and far-reaching solutions for stemming the tide of the threat and ensuring a safer and better-built environment for sustainable seismic design building.
