Implementation of Koha acquisition module in University of Mindanao Learning and Information Center
Abstract
An I.P.O. (Input-Process-Output) base research of Bachelor of Library and Information Science involving the Koha Library Management System, and the Acquisition Works in University of Mindanao – Learning and Information Center, Matina, Davao City under the College of Computing Education. The subject of the study is the Acquisition Librarian of University of Mindanao – Learning and Information Center. The method being used is Waterfall Approach Design that involves Project Identification and Selection, Project Initiation and Planning, Analysis, Logical Design, Implementation, Installation, and Maintenance. The research was conducted, implemented and evaluated in University of Mindanao – Learning and Information Center, Matina, Davao City. The study concludes that the Koha Acquisition Module is very good and it provides secure and reliable acquisition works. It enables to manage the workloads of the Acquisition Librarian of UM-LIC through providing budget, vendor, suggestion, invoice, funds, and acquisition reports management system. Generally it helps the acquisition Librarian to automate the acquisition works and records.
