Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine the significant relationship between classroom management strategies of teachers and student attitude towards literacy. The respondents of the study were the grades 5 and 6 elementary students coming from urban and rural public schools for the school year 2019-2020 using quantitative- non experimental design and stratified sampling technique with the total number of 300 respondents in which researchers selected participants (such as schools) for the sample so that any individual has an equal probability of being selected from the population. Mean, Pearson-r, and t-test were statistical tools used in the analysis and interpretation of the data. Results revealed that the level of classroom management strategies was rated high. It was also indicated in the study that the level of student attitude towards literacy was rated high. There was a significant difference in classroom management strategies of teachers towards the attitude of students in literacy from rural and urban schools. Further, there was also significant relationship between classroom management strategies of teachers and student attitude towards literacy. Therefore, classroom management is essential towards the attitude of students may it be in rural or urban areas in development of their literacy aspect.
