Abstract
This study, titled "An Evaluation of Sustainable Development Goals and Tourism Impact on the Quality of Life of Local Residents in Davao City," aims to explore the effects of sustainable development initiatives and tourism on the well-being of the city's residents. Utilizing a quantitative cross-sectional research design, data were collected from 385 respondents through a structured questionnaire adapted to assess various dimensions of sustainable development and tourism impact. The study specifically investigates the economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects of sustainable development goals (SDGs) and their relationship with the material, community, emotional, health and safety, and overall life satisfaction of local residents. The findings revealed that sustainable development goals have a significant positive impact on the quality of life of residents, with economic and environmental dimensions being particularly influential. Additionally, tourism impacts were found to significantly enhance residents' material well-being, community engagement, and health and safety. Variations in the impacts of SDGs and tourism were analyzed across different demographic profiles, including age, gender, marital status, educational attainment, and occupation, using ANOVA and t-test statistical methods. Significant differences were noted in several demographic categories, highlighting the nuanced effects of tourism and sustainable development.
