The thesis in entitled Commonly used grammar learning strategies of education student of UM Peñaplata college was conducted to determine the commonly used grammar learning strategies of 1st year and 2nd year education student of UM Peñaplata College. The study was accomplished with the participation of seventy-eight (78) education student. Out of seventy-eight, twenty-one (21) of them were 1st year and fifty-seven (57) were 2nd year respectively. This utilized a descriptive method which gives descriptions of events and phenomena. Average weighted mean, frequency, percentage, and t-test were the statistical tools used. The common grammar learning strategies of 1st year students when categorized into cognitive strategies, metacognitive strategies, socio-affective strategies got a mean of 3.39, 3.69, 3.58. The 2nd year students grammar learning strategies categorized into cognitive strategies, metacognitive strategies, socio-affective strategies got a mean of 3.45, 3.78, 4.14. There is no significant difference in the used of grammar learning strategies between 1st year and 2nd year education students. Learners are necessary to be motivated, interested and attentive in every subject particularly in grammar in order for them to achieve their needed learning, so teachers must innovate and follow the common used strategies result of the researchers and do their best for the aim of quality education.
