The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning on reading comprehension in grade 6 pupils in Angel Villarica Central Elementary School. The researchers, who are BEED students, observed that students are more active when they are engaged into group activities where they can share their knowledge to other. The researchers used the experimental method of research employing the adopted questionnaire as data gathering instrument. It is experimental since it assessed the strategies in teaching. The respondents of the study were pupils from Angel Villarica Central Elementary School, School Year 2017-2018. It consists of 52 pupils. With the result of our study, it is recommended that teachers should apply cooperative learning strategy especially when they are teaching reading comprehension, and the school administrator should consider cooperative learning as one of the strategies in teaching to improved their students learning specially in paraphrasing.
