The effectiveness of using authentic materials in learning different parts of the plants and its function of grade III students in PCES SPED center IGACOS
Abstract
The study entitled "The effectiveness of using authentic materials in learning different parts of the plants and its function to the grade III students in Peñaplata central elementary school" was conducted to determine if the use of authentic materials in learning different parts of the plants and its function has an effect to the improvement of students' performance. An experimental design was used in the study. The essential data were gathered from a total number of 60 respondents, 30 students from the control group and 30 from the experimental group, with the aid of validated questionnaire. Data were analyzed and interpreted using the average weighted mean and T-test as statistical tools. According to the findings of the study, data revealed that the result of pre-test and post-test of both control and experimental group is significant. On the test of the significant difference of the use of authentic materials and without using this intervention, result showed that there is a significant difference of the utilization of authentic materials in learning parts of the plants and its function in Grade 3 pupils in Peñaplata Central Elementary school. This tells us that use of authentic materials could be one of the effective methods in motivating your students in the classroom specifically in learning parts of the plants and its function. Furthermore, the researchers recommended to use authentic materials for it is one of the effective tool in encouraging students' attention. This study intends to enhance the body of research as it relates to students' learning different parts of the plants and its function by using authentic materials.
