Athletics and academics: student in focus in Island Garden City of Samal

Abstract

The study was entitled athletics and academics: student in focus in Island Garden City of Samal, the proponents is Maria Noella C. Angalan and Richel C. Tomas. This study uses a qualitative research design which is the most convenient for the researcher to analyze the problem of a certain phenomenon, and the researcher uses a phenomenological method to conduct this study. In order to determine the effect of athletics on the life of the student who would like to pursue and achieve high grades in the academe. The researchers also want to know if engaging in sports or any athletics activities is beneficial or not on the part of the student, the parents, and also the teachers who were in the first place is the factor that can help the researcher find out the result in this study. The researcher would like to have an in depth interview with the different school in Island Garden City of Samal but because of the time, the researcher only conduct the study on the school that have a large variety of athletics students.
