This study entitled Maintenance department leadership style and employee performance was conducted to determine the significant relationship between leadership style and employee performance. Through this study, the researchers were able to analyze, evaluate, organize and gather data accordingly. This study was realized with the cooperation of 207 respondents, the teachers, students and maintenance personnel. A descriptive - correlation type of research was utilized in this study. It is a method designed to determine if two or more variables are associated with each other. Both the descriptive and correlational method is non-experimental approach to research. No attempt to manipulate or control or interfere with the variables. Descriptive method measures a variable(s) as they exist naturally and the goal is to describe the variable(s). Correlational method measures two or more variables as they exist naturally and the goal is to establish that a relationship exist between variables. Based on the gathered data, the researchers found that; First, the level of maintenance department leadership style has a descriptive equivalent of high. The leadership style in the maintenance department was measured thru their leader's motivational capacity and facilitation of teamwork in the department. The data imply that the department's leader has a high level of leadership style, which means that the leader is effective and persuasive to his/her subordinators' needs. Second, the level of employee performance has a descriptive equivalent of high. Their performance was measured according to their job knowledge, attendance and quality of work. Data show that the employees of UM Peñaplata College Maintenance Department have a high level of performance which means that their performance meet the expected level. Third, there is no significant difference on the level of employee performance as perceived by the students and teachers, as revealed by the computed r-value of 0.76 at 0.05 level of significance. Fourth, there is no significant relationship between maintenance department leadership style and employee performance as perceived by the students, teachers and maintenance personnel, as revealed by the computed r-value of .727 at 0.05 level of significance.
