Abstract
This research entitled "Effects of lending activities in the performance of micro enterprises in barangay Peñaplata, Samal District II Island Garden City of Samal. was conducted to determine the effects of lending activities to the performance of Micro Enterprises. The respondents of the study were the Micro Enterprises who are engaged in lending activities. There were eighty-eight (88) Micro Enterprises that have been surveyed and collected information that are essential for the research. the method used was descriptive correlation method. The study deals with the correlation of the effects of lending activities in the performance of Micro Enterprises. The study found out the following: in terms of age, in the profile of the graduates, ranging to 48-42 years old has the highest frequency of 19 respondents are mostly engaged in lending activities, while age of 23-27 has the lowest number of 3 respondents; in gender, females have the highest percentage of 70.45% of the overall total percentage of respondents or a total number of 62 compared to males that only has 29.55% or a total number of 26; while in terms of civil status, most of the respondents are married with a total frequency of 73 while widowed respondents has the lowest frequency of 3; when it comes to the monthly income of the Micro Enterprises, a total number of 74 respondents can still earned a highest monthly income raging to 1001-above while there's one (1) respondent who earned a lowest income of 201-400 a month; the most availed lending activity of MEs is individual leans with a 43.81% of the overall total percentage of respondents while the lowest percentage of 25% availed by the respondents is bank loans; the levels of performance of MEs that are engaged in lending activities are very satisfied; lastly, there is no significant difference between the performance of Micro Enterprises when categorized according to their lending activities.
