Home environment and students interest in mathematics among senior high school of UM Panabo College

Abstract

This study sought to establish the relationship between home environment and student interest in mathematics among Senior High of UM Panabo City. . The study adopted a non-experimental correlation method and employed a standardized questionnaire where there are 77 respondents to be the study sample. The data are gathered by the researcher by giving questionnaire to the respondents. The result of the research study were studied and analyzed carefully to show the relationship between home environment and student interest in mathematics. The survey being conducted last October would be enough to formulate conclusion and recommendation. The study concluded that there is a relationship between home environment and student interest in mathematics. The study recommends that parents should find a job that would support the needs of their children but it should not their time being involve to activities which will boost the child’s performance and parents must nurture their child in a manner that would enhance the child’s performance with this, student interest in math would be guaranteed.
