This qualitative research delves into the multifaceted experiences of individuals engaged in backyard gardening practices. Through in-depth interviews and observations, the study seeks to understand the motivations, challenges, and perceived benefits associated with cultivating gardens in residential spaces. A purposive sample of backyard gardeners from diverse demographic backgrounds was selected, and data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns. Findings reveal a rich tapestry of experiences, ranging from a deep connection to nature and self-sufficiency to challenges related to space constraints and environmental factors. Moreover, the study uncovers the significance of social connections, cultural influences, and personal values in shaping gardening practices. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of backyard gardening in promoting sustainable lifestyles, community engagement, and well-being. Recommendations for policymakers, urban planners, and gardening enthusiasts are provided based on the study's insights.
