Abstract
This research investigated how enterprises on the Island Garden City of Samal manged to sustain themselves amidst challenges. Although enterprises have used several strategies and ways on how to maintain its business sustainability, the complex business environment makes company survival and expansion difficult. This study draws upon the Business Resilience Theory, Aldrich's theory, and the Resource-based view to examine how enterprises in Samal Island maintain its sustainability. A sample size 3 enterprises in Samal Island was used in this study as the research participants. This approach was supported by Dr. Robert K. Yin which states that, it is acceptable to carry out a case study or research with just three participants. Analysis of enterprises in Samal Island reveals that theses enterprises had experience multiples challenges while securing business sustainability, including digitalization difficulties, financial constraints, and post-pandemic challenges. Despite these challenges, the enterprises showcased resilience to sustain their businesses. Strategies such as adaptation to evolving circumstances, financial agility, and perseverance were implemented by the selected enterprises to navigate the challenges effectively. In addition, the experiences and challenges faced by the enterprises builds adaptability, resilience and flexibility shaping business sustainability in a more dynamic and evolving environment.
