Abstract
This study aimed to determine the Financial Risk: A Story Behind of Sigatoka Disease at Checkered Farm, Brgy. Tibungol, Panabo City, Davao Del Norte. The categorical variables of this study are: experiences of a banana grower and their struggles that they encounter during the strike of Sigatoka disease on their banana plantains, Coping Mechanisms of banana growers on how they handle and address those challenges effectively; the Insights/Reflection that can be generated from the findings. The researchers conducted an interview on the Banana Growers at Checkered Farm, Tibungol, Panabo City, Under the Cooperative of CFARBEMPCO. There were seven (7) informants, all Banana Growers, respectively. The researcher used a research questionnaire, as we used the In-depth interview together with our respondents/participants as they answered it in front of a recorded voice recorder with the researchers to record their answers. Moreover, the researcher made use of a transcript to analyze the data. The finding shows the struggles and challenges of banana growers; to cope and battle with those problem effectively; and their understanding on dealing the financial cost on Sigatoka Disease. This abstract provides light to elaborate the challenges and struggles in terms of financial cost of the Banana Growers encountering the Sigatoka Disease, emphasizing the significance of support, development, financial capabilities and developing agriculture programs to help their critical situations on battling the disease.
