Financial management and profitability among food hawkers in night market in Panabo City

Abstract
The study focuses on examining the financial management practices of food hawkers in Panabo City's night market and how these practices impact their profitability. Through structured interviews with 80 food hawker owners, the study found that these vendors were adept at managing their finances, with high scores in investment methods and liquidity management. Moreover, profitability measures also reflected strong performance. Statistical analysis revealed a significant correlation between financial management and increased profits. The result revealed that the level of financial management of food hawkers in night market in Panabo city in terms of Investment practice, liquidity was high with overallmean of 4.01. The level of profitability of food hawkers in night market in Panabo city in terms of Inventory holding period, account payable period was high with overall mean of 4.13. Furthermore, it was found out that there was no significant between how financial management were done and how profitable a business is. With a moderately positive association (0.504) and a highly significant p-value (0.000). The null hypothesis was rejected. In the words, better money handling leads to more money coming in.
