Abstract
This study explores the link between disaster preparedness and mental health among employees of the local government unit (LGU) in Panabo. It examines disaster preparedness, employee disaster information, and disaster supply kits. Using a non-experimental quantitative design with a descriptive correlation technique, the study analyzed the statistical relationships between these factors. Furthermore, a total of 267 LGU Panabo employees were chosen through random sampling. Data was collected via questionnaires, with reliability ensured by Cronbach's Alpha and validity checked by expert reviews. The pilot test results indicated a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.725, while the dependent variable had outstanding reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.713. Additionally, descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, summarized the data. Results showed that LGU Panabo's disaster preparedness practices are very high, with an overall mean score of 4.35. Similarly, employees' mental health also scored very high, with a mean of 4.21. Moreover, there is a significant positive relationship between disaster preparedness and mental health, indicating that better disaster preparedness positively affects employee well-being and organizational effectiveness.
