Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic affected all types of businesses by implementing conservative rules and regulations to ensure the safety of customers and business operators, as well as minimizing physical contact to prevent further transmission of the virus. The same rules made significant changes in how fast-food chains carry out their business operations without compromising profit. Hence, this study is inspired to determine the adaptation strategies to new normal regulations among selected fast-food chains in Davao City. Moreover, this study investigated whether there are significant differences on the adaptation strategies of FFC when group according to profile (i.e., gender, age, and FFC). Subsequently, 100 respondents participated who are FFC personnel in Davao City, who specifically worked in McDonald’s, Jollibee, Mang Inasal, KFC, and Chowking. Based on the results, the level of adaptation strategy of the respondents demonstrated a very high service and product delivery, also very high in operations management, and high level of floor area strategy under the new normal regulations. Further, there was only a significant difference on the floor area strategy of fast-food chains when analyzed according to age, Furthermore, there were no significant difference on the level of adaptation strategy when analyzed according to sex. Meanwhile, only service and product delivery have a significant difference in the variable when analyzed according to different fast-food chains.
