Disaster response and management barriers : a responders perspective /

Abstract

The general objective of this study is to uncover the lapses and the unseen barriers existing in disaster response management in Davao City. The data was collected through a survey questionnaire with 400 respondents in Davao City responders. The findings show a significant relationship between disaster response and management barriers. The University of Mindanao Davao City could consider collaborating with the NGO's, and other agencies to organize disaster preparedness and response exercises that involve the students, faculty, and staff. This will help build a culture of preparedness within the university community and provide opportunities for hands-on training and learning. By implementing these measures, the University of Mindanao Davao City can help ensure the safety and well-being of its students, faculty, and staff during disasters and contribute to building a more resilient community.
