This research study subjects to identify social issues that can be derived from the mythological movie Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief of Chris Columbus in correlation to the present society. The aim of this study is to discover the social issues in the film and find out how do these revealed social issues influence the lives of the people in this present society. Anchored with Marxism approach, this study used in-depth interviews and a focus group discussion as methods of gathering data for the study. This research study revealed that social issues are widely spread even in the present time. As it starts from an individual, it creates a connection that affects single entity to many. The study participants‘ point of view lets them unlock realizations and discover knowledge regarding the social issues they witnessed and experienced. Finally, this study would be helpful by some means to the future researchers who are interested to conduct a study related to discovering a literature‘s societal impact and analyzing the social meanings presented by its creator. Films like this (Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief) can be a great help to the people as its audience to deliver message and convey meaning for the benefit of the society.
