Solid waste management awareness and practices of selected barangays in Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte, Philippines
Abstract
Solid waste administration is the collection, transport, or disposal and therapy of waste substances (Marcelo and Helwege, 2014) and can be classified as biodegradable, recyclable, and residual according to the composition. Waste era and disposal have over the previous decades, become particularly-problematic, all through the world (Starovoytova, 2018). Trouble has been created by way of mankind, due-to thoughtless-act of consumerism, and bad-attitudes and practices, in the direction of waste (Sebastian, 2010). This study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design that focuses on the significant relationship between the level of awareness on solid waste management and the extent of application of solid waste management practices of each barangay exists. This survey deals on quantitative data and conducted google form link survey of 50 respondents of each 5 barangays with a total of 250 respondents. The process of gathering the data was done through the use of survey questionnaire. The resulted found that the residents of the selected barangays of Braulio E. Dujali, Davao Del Norte are very aware in terms of the solid waste management in their respective barangays. Also, the overall mean was highly practiced for the extent of application of solid waste management. Moreover, there is a significant on the difference on the level of awareness and also significant on the difference on the extent of application of solid waste management practices among barangay. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between levels of awareness on solid waste management and extent of application of solid waste management practices. Furthermore, this study is to extend help hand and hand to the Local Government Unit of Braulio E. Dujali, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Barangay Officials, Teachers, Parents and future researchers.
