“A multiple case of single parents students in achieving higher education” is a phenomenological case study that seeks to discover, understand, and promote awareness of single parent students‟ lived experiences. Student who are single parents encounter numerous obstacle that might affect their perseverance, academic performance, personal growth, and degree completion while pursuing higher college degree. This study had to know the obstacle, as well as the impacts on educational achievement and the character qualities that helped single parent students survived in college. There are three (3) questions served as a guide for us to learn more about the living experiences of single parent students: (1)What are the experiences of the single parents in pursuing higher education? (2)What are the coping mechanism observed by the single parent in achieving higher education? (3)What insights can the participants share to the community in general? The researcher wanted to obtain a deeper knowledge of parenting students‟ educational experiences in higher degree. Qualitative study method was appropriate for dealing with the issue of single parent student experience. The technique of inquiry and thematic analysis resulted in a better knowledge, as well as a deeper understanding of student parenting in a higher education setting. The researchers think that there is need to investigate or perform the study since single parent students are becoming more prevalent in higher education, and they appear to have become invisible to the school and community. The researchers aims to learn more about the difficulties that single parents student face and how they dealt their experiences. Finally, the researchers are passionate about that field of study and believe that it is both important and useful not only to single parent students but also to everyone.
Furthermore, in order to increase students enthusiasm to complete and pursue their education, support and educational aid must be prioritized. As a result of the findings of this study, it is proposed that future research delve more into the educational experiences of the participants in order to have a better knowledge of the needs of parent students in higher education. Everyone will benefits from the study's results, conclusions, and suggestions. This will be utilized to promote sensitivity and awareness. More particular, the findings are intended to add to the current research on the obstacles of single parent students experiences in pursuing higher education.
