Individual and team characters in sports possessed by the athletes

Abstract

This study examined the extent of individual and team characters in sports possessed by the athletes in University of Mindanao. The analysis of the data was based on the responses of the 50 athletes in the University of Mindanao, Matina Campus. The researchers carried out this study with the use of adopted and modified survey questionnaire and data gathered were statistically treated using the mean and standard deviation. Results of the study revealed that the extent of individual and team character in sports possessed by the athletes in University of Mindanao in terms of Sportsmanship, Personal Responsibility, Perseverance, Caring and Connectedness, Collective Responsibility, Relationship with coaches, Leadership opportunities and Coaches motivational techniques indicates a very high descriptive level. The overall mean score of the indicators is 4.36 which indicate a very high descriptive level.
