Managerial coaching competencies and efficacy of coaches in sporting activities
Abstract
This study aimed to determine which domain of managerial coaching competencies best influences efficacy of coaches in sporting activities. This study utilized the non-experimental quantitative descriptive approach research design using correlation technique. Utilizing universal sampling, there were 100 student-athletes of the secondary school in the Department of Education, Digos City Division, Philippines. The study was conducted during the first semester of school year 2017-2018. Research Instruments on managerial coaching competencies and efficacy of coaches in sporting activities were used as data collection tools. This study used Mean, Pearson and Regression in treating the data of the study. The results of the study showed a very high level of managerial coaching competence a very high level of efficacy of coaches in sporting activities a significant relationship between managerial coaching competence and efficacy of coaches in sporting activities and managerial coaching competence significantly influenced efficacy of coaches in sporting activities. Finally, the domains of managerial coaching competence that best influenced efficacy of coaches in sporting activities was building trusting relationship.
