dc.description.abstractMicrofinance institutions in recent years acclaim in rapid expansion and success in the Philippines. Presently, Filipinos were more engaged in obtaining a loan from microfinance institution instead of informal banks. However, there is an unavailability of them to earn a profit that leads them in default. The study assessed the expenditure pattern of microfinance clients in the Island Garden City of Samal. The statistical tools employed were descriptive method specifically: frequency and percentage. The data gathered through the use of survey questionnaire distributed to 200 microfinance clients in different microfinance institutions such as Life Bank Foundation Inc., Pag-AsaPhilippines Lending, Inc., Asa Philippines Foundation, Inc., and Kabalikat Para sa Maunad na Buhay, Inc. Results showed that the expenditure pattern of microfinance clients starts in acquiring for asset ownership specially for housing purposes next is the business expansion such as for additional capital for the sari-sari store and next will be for their children's education and lastly for food consumptionen_US
