dc.description.abstractThe primary goal of the study was to determine which indicator best influences the sport motivation of athletes in secondary schools utilizing quantitative non-experimental design using correlational technique with 130 athletes from secondary schools of Kidapawan City District II, School Year 2017-2018. Mean, Pearson r and Regression Analysis were the statistical tools used for the data treatment. Results showed a high level of leadership behavior among coaches in terms of training behavior, autocratic behavior, democratic behavior, social support and rewarding behavior. The study also showed a high level of sport motivation of athletes in terms of external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, integrated regulation, intrinsic motivation and amotivation. Moreover, there was a significant relationship between leadership behavior among coaches and sport motivation of athletes in secondary schools. Of the five indicators of leadership behavior among coaches, three of them significantly influenced the sport motivation of athlete specifically rewarding behavior, democratic behavior and autocratic behavior. Among these three indicators, rewarding behavior was found to have the best influence on sport motivation.
