This study aimed to determine the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism revenue of the
Island Garden City of Samal because of severe restrictions on tourism and social life. The
economic downturn has particularly dramatically impacted tourism revenue, which dropped
considerably in 2019. The paper describes the adverse effects of COVID-19 on the tourism
industry with available data. The findings will help to explain and address the challenges in
the tourism industry and create strategies to overcome future related issues.
Methodologically, the study utilized secondary data analysis following a descriptive research
design. Researchers use secondary data sources due to the unavailability of essential data
for further statistical analysis. Significant findings highlighted the negative impact of the
Covid-19 outbreak on the tourism industry. Notably, the study finds that a significant
negative impact on tourism revenue will impede the sector's recovery. The study
recommends a strong response centered on tourism for a quick recovery. Also, it was
emphasized that solid skills are required to rebuild a sustainable tourism industry
