Determining the difference of effectiveness of Jail Officers in District Jail Unit ang Provincial Jail Unit

Abstract

This study was explored to examine the effectiveness of jail officers in the present set-up of the prisons. Further, this paper sought to answer how the effectiveness of these jail officers creates an impact on the jail units and to compare which of the stations have attained a greater level of effectiveness because of the effectual work performance of the officer. With the employment of descriptive-comparative research design,83 jail officers. Both from district jail and provincial jail units were randomly selected to participate in answering the standardized questionnaire adapted from Smith (2018). Findings showed that the kail officers’ level of effectiveness in terms of their approach to work and personal beliefs, personal style of communication, and interaction to case manage is high. Also, no significant difference was found when their level of effectiveness was analyzed according to their sex, age, rank number of years in service, and jail unit. This elucidates that the jail officers’ effectiveness does not vary despite their differences.
