This study was investigated to examine further the disaster preparedness and risk reduction management practices of every barangay official in Matanao, Davao del Sur. Further, it sought to answer the level of their disaster preparedness and risk reduction management practices and whether or not significant difference exists when these practices are analysed by their profile. With the employment of descriptive-comparative research design, 203 barangay officials from Matanao were randomly selected using stratified sampling in order to participate on answering the standardized questionnaire utilized in this study. Findingsshowed that the disaster preparedness and risk reduction management practices of the barangay officials in terms of internal protocol training, external response agreements, disaster response capabilities, information collection and distribution of staff, client preparation, building protection, and emergency supplies were already completed within the last years. Also, no significant difference was found out when it isanalysed according to their sex, age group, and position.
