dc.description.abstractChildren has the fundamental right to be protected. Child abuse discourages a child's security by putting him/her in possibility of physical and emotional damages Parents have the responsibility to educate their children. However, children at risk of maltreatment, the community has an obligation to intervene to ensure the wellbeing and welfare of children. This study aimed to determine the cases of minors in need special program year 2015-2016, that involved psycho/emotional abused, ran away, abandoned, neglected, sexual abused, physical abused and children in conflict with the law or cicl. In this quantitative research, the researchers gathered data from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Sta. Cruz. The study found out that physical abused was recorded to have the highest frequency of 161 or 26.74% for the past two years Male recorded with the highest total frequency of 316 than female with 286 total frequencies. Further, when it comes to place of incident, barangay zone 3 was recorded to have the highest frequency for the year 2015 with 55 or 19.50% and for the year 2016 with 71 or 22,19%.en_US
