Disaster and emergency preparedness is one of the component of disaster risk management among programs and projects, prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and rehabilitation, facilities, and equipment. The current study explores the status of disaster and emergency preparedness of the residents in Punta Biao. The study is based on the perception of 369 participants through adopted questionnaire that is used to drawn out the perceived level of preparedness of the residents. The study found out that the most participants are female who are in early and late adulthood and resides in Punta Biao for two to five decades. Furthermore, the perceived preparedness level of the residents in disaster and emergency is not so high but in moderate level. Moreover, the perceived level of the preparedness in disaster and emergencies of residents of Punta Biao is significantly different when they are clustered according to sex, age, and years of residency.
