INCIDENTS OF RIOTS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SULOP DAVAO DEL SURT IN THE YEAR 2017

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the incidents of riots in the Municipality of Sulop, Davao del Sur in the year 2017. The study employed a descriptive research method wherein secondary data were used and obtained in the Municipality of Sulop Police Station, specifically in the Women and Children Protection Desk Office. Result of the study reveals that most of the rioters are minors, students and specifically males who belong to broken families, joining a gang and most especially was said to be intoxicated with alcohol in committing crimes and violence. The study recommends that government, law enforcement officers, barangay officials, teachers and parents may use these as guidelines in preventing violence and crimes. Moreover, this study would help children in conflict with the law to keep away from any crimes.
