CRIME RATES IN DAVAO DEL SUR

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the crime rates among the ten municipalities of Davao del Sur namely; Bansalan, Digos, Magsaysay, Hagonoy, Kiblawan, Malalag, Matanao, Padada, Santa Cruz and Sulop,. It sought to determine the index and non-index crime rate in year 2014, 2015 and 2016. This study employed a descriptive method of research. It would describe the index and non-index crime rates; ANOVA was utilized for analyzing the data. This study employed a descriptive method of research. The researchers found out he index crime rate in year 2014, Digos City have the highest frequency of 1,666. Municipalities of magsaysay have the lowest frequency of 110. In 2015, Digos City still gave the highest recorded index crimes committed with a frequency of 1,123. Among the ten municipalities, Sulop have the lowest crime rate frequency of 89., in 2016, the total index crimes recorded is 1,258. The non-index crime boosts at 10,501 in year 2014. In 2015, non-index crime 6,184 reported incident has been recorded. Municipality of Kiblawan have the lowest crime rate frequency of 138. By 2016, the total non-index crime committed in Davao del Sur is 5,252.
