dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to track or trace the Criminology Graduates of UM Bansalan College in SY. 2010-2013. The Part 1 dealt with the personal information of the Criminology Graduates in UM Bansalan College in SY 2010-2013 and Part 2 dealt with the employment data of the respondents. The research instrument in this study was a standardized questionnaire which is developed by CHED and has been modified by the researcher which is called Graduate Tracer Survey Study. Out of 160 total population of respondents, we come up with 109 sample respondents due to the reason that we can’t trace some of the Criminology graduates anymore. The study revealed that the personal information of the respondents were single and male. SY 2012 had the highest number of Criminology graduates who passed the Criminology Licensure Examination and presently employed and had a stable job. The employment data of the respondents were regular or permanent in their present job or current job and commonly had the position as Police Officer 1 who works in the government or organization. Their current job which was related to the course they took in college and took their first job as a walk-applicant making them wait to land their first job in 6 months to less than 1 year. Salaries and benefits were the top reason for the respondents to stay in their first job. For the respondents that their current job was not their first job, it took 1 month to less than 6 months. they stayed in their first job but majority of the respondents did not answer the question because most of them had stable jobs. For those respondents that their current job was not their first job, salaries and benefits also was the main reason why the respondents changed their job, but the majority of the respondents did not answer the question because most of them had stable jobs. For the competencies learned in college, public relation skills were the most useful in their first job and their overall training in BS Criminology at UM were very much useful and applicable to their present job. Based on the findings and conclusions, we would recommend that there should be a continuous enhancement of the Criminology Department for the students to be more equipped and be competitive in preparation for the employment. Thus, the school administrators should continue guiding and supporting new graduates in job hunting. The researchers specifically recommended to the faculty of the Criminology department to initiate the rigid training in academic and extracurricular activities. Thus, to the alumni office of this institution, they must extend an extra mile in upgrading the Bachelor of Science in Criminology alumni profile to have a database for our Criminology graduates that will serve as a future reference. | en_US |
