Cultural intelligence of teachers and academic motivation of students
Abstract
The main objective of the study was to determine which of cultural intelligence significantly influences the student engagement. The respondents of the study were the 131 public elementary teachers from Tarragona Districts for SY 2016-2017 using universal sampling techniques. Quantitative non-experimental design was use employing the correlational technique. An adapted – modified questionnaire validated by the experts was used in gathering the data. Mean, Pearson-r and regression were the statistical tools employed in analyzing and interpreting the data. Results reveal that the cultural intelligence in terms of metacognitive, cognitive and behavioral cultural intelligence were rated very high, while motivational was also rated very high. There was no significant relationship between cultural intelligence and academic motivation of students. And lastly cognitive was the domain which significantly influenced the academic motivation of students.
