An ear nose throat-head and neck center : a five-year strategic plan of ICOHNS
Abstract
Strategic Planning is essential in every organization especially in the healthcare enterprise. The key to success in every group is attributed to a well-planed, timely, detailed analysis and appropriate application of business tools: the concept of SWOT analysis matrix tool and balanced score card perspectives. This study aim to formulate a five-year strategic plan for ICOHNS encompassing the conduction of SWOT analysis integrating the four perspective of balanced scorecard, creating an annual operational plan and road map of the project with application of an appropriate monitoring and evaluation tool. This is a descriptive research to be conducted in an ear nose throat - head and neck center called ICOHNS located in Davao City, Philippines. Participants include all major stakeholders and personnel and some affiliates and investors of the corporation voluntary consented to participate in a 4 - week study period. Result showed the participation of all major stakeholders and personnel with some of the affiliates/investors. The study able to formulate a five - year strategic plan integrating the SWOT analysis matrix tool and the four perspectives of balanced scorecard. The study further able to create an annual operational plan and designed a road map tailored to the need of the organization - ICOHNS with the recommended monitoring and evaluation scheme.
