Abstract
This research study was mainly focused on designing a bridge structure adopting vent ford method at Km. 6.5 Asico Village, Matina Pangi, Davao City. Heavy rains make the area inaccessible due to high flood waters which is home to up to 260 families. To achieve its aim, this study utilized a descriptive method of research for it involves the collection of data on site crucial for the bridge design. The objectives were to investigate the site location through its river profile and soil properties and to determine its hydrological data through river velocity and river discharge. The soil along Pangi River was explored to gather samples for its properties, and the river was assessed and profiled which was used as a crucial part of the design computation. To further asses the structural integrity of the bridge, the researchers made use of STAAD analysis during the design phase. As a result, the bridge design adopting vent ford will serve its purpose in providing safety and easy access to transportation even throughout heavy rains. Keywords: Soil Properties, River Profile, Hydrological Data
