This study was conducted to determine the competency and effectiveness of the barangay peacekeeping action team of barangay Tubod Bansalan, Davao del Sur. The researchers aim to determine the significant relationship between the level of competency and effectiveness of the Barangay peacekeeping action team. The study was conducted using the descriptive correlation method. The researchers administered personally the questionnaire to the chosen residents of Barangay Tubod, Bansalan Davao del Sur with 100 participants. The study resulted in data and findings to determine the competency and effectiveness of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team in barangay Tubod and was strongly agreed. The significant relationship between the level of competency and effectiveness of the barangay peacekeeping action team was tested below 0.75 level of significance. Based on the findings and conclusion the researchers would recommend the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team should use a data survey to evaluate their effectiveness in the implementation of various programs that needs improvement that the barangay peacekeeping action team should take into consideration that the indicators where the needs of residents for their safety and a peaceful community. Further, the residents of Barangay Tubod should continue to take part and do their responsibilities and support their barangay official and barangay peacekeeping action team in every activity that they will undertake in promoting peace. That the Municipal league will use and develop evaluative measures to determine the level of competency and effectiveness of the BPAT’s.
