dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to determine the causes of domestic violence in Poblacion Uno and Dos, in the municipality of Bansalan, Davao del Sur. The researchers aim to determine the significance of the relationships between the demographic profile and causes of domestic violence. The study was conducted using the descriptive-correlation method. The researchers use self-made questionnaires based on theory. The study resulted in data and findings to determine the causes of domestic violence as perceived by the respondents that the results were moderate. The significant relationship between causes of domestic violence and demographic profile of respondents was tested below 0.05 level of significance. Thus, the decision on Ho: is not significant which means that there is no significant relationship between two variables. Based on the findings and conclusions the researchers would recommend that there should be a similar study about domestic violence but profiled according to economic status and educational attainment because it will categorize the behavior that can cause violence within the family. In the study of domestic violence all barangays within the municipality should be included to determine what barangay has many problems in domestic violence; and to make possible programs to decrease violence in the family. There should be the seminar or program of the Local Government Unit (LGU) to give awareness to women about the existing laws promulgated on 2006, known as Anti-Violence against women and their children (VAWC). | en_US |
