Strategy for employee retention and work culture among DAPRISA member schools in Davao City

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine which domain of strategy for employee retention best influences work culture among DAPRISA member schools in Davao City. The respondents are 124 employees of DAPRISA member schools. A non experimental quantitative research design utilizing descriptive-correlational technique is employed in this study. Statistical tools include mean, Pearson r and regression. The study revealed a significant relationship between DAPRISA member schools’ strategy for employee retention with their work culture. Moreover, among the five indicators of employee retention strategy, intention to quit the firm (ITQ) best predicted organizational decisions; organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) best predicted teamwork; intention to quit the firm (ITQ) best predicted job factors; organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) best predicted physical work conditions; and employability best predicted compensation and benefits. The respondents showed high level of strategy for employee retention while demonstrated high level in work culture. Further studies are warranted that the domain on strategy for employee retention which best influences work culture is Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB).
