Social skills and study anxiety among grade 8 students in the secondary schools

Abstract
This study determined which domain in the social skills best influences study anxiety of students, utilizing quantitative non experimental study with 271 students from the Caraga District as respondent of the study for the SY 2015- 2016. Mean, Pearson r and Multiple Regression were the statistical tools used for the study. Result showed a high level of social anxiety, likewise all of the indicators of social skills manifested a high level except assertion, which was rated moderate. The overall mean for study anxiety of students in terms of class participation anxiety, language anxiety, social anxiety and math anxiety rated moderate except exam anxiety was rated high. Overall there was no significant relationship between social skills and study anxiety of students. Finally, cooperation was the domain of social skills that significantly influenced study anxiety of students. Keywords: educational management, social skills, study anxiety Philippines
